Yes, we are thinking along the same lines – when I got your earlier message, I thought that you might be more interested in supporting on-the-ground work that Sakhalin Environment Watch is conducting to protect gray whales. Pacific Environment is doing advocacy work, particularly in regards to international financing of the oil and gas projects around Sakhalin and their impacts on gray whales. We of course do this in partnership with Sakhalin Environment Watch, and SEW has a lot of needs where your support will be very helpful!
우리도 같은 생각을 했습니다. 첫번째 편지를 받았을때 저는 여러분들이 Sakhalin Environment Watch 와 같은 현장활동을 지원하기 원할 것이라고 생각했습니다. Pacific Environment 는 사할린 지역의 원유와 가스프로젝트와 이 프로젝트가 귀신고래에 미치는 영향에 대해 정책변화운동을 하는 단체입니다. 물론 우리는 SEW와 파트너쉽을 가지고 일하고 있고, SEW에는 여러분의 지원이 필요한 많은 부분이 있을 것입니다.

If this is difficult due to tax regulations, then you can send the funds to Pacific Environment, and we can add it to support that we are already providing to Sakhalin Environment Watch. In any case, we would be happy to send you updates about the advocacy on oil and gas projects and the impacts to gray whales that we are involved in – we often do such updates anyway, and we can add you to the distribution list. I’m sure SEW will be happy to send you information as well.
